This coffee shop located in Hangzhou has decided to break with welcoming and relaxing coffee design conventions. The excessive size of the curved steel sheets and the brushed and smooth aspect gives a brand new tone to industrial design.
Dark and polished, contrasting with the expectations created by the name “Bananananana” – one would expect to enter a colorful and fun place – this place reaches its differentiation objective. Yet, is it really appealing ?
Un lieu qui a choisi de créer un design choc.
Ce café situé à Hangzhou a décidé de rompre avec les conventions de design des cafés, à savoir accueillant et relaxant. La taille démesurée des tôles d’acier courbées et l’aspect brossé et lisse de l’espace donnent une nouvelle interprétation de la tendance du design industriel.
Et le contraste avec les attentes créées par le nom «Bananananana» – on s’attendrait à entrer dans un lieu coloré et ludique – est saisissant. Différenciant, il l’est, mais attirant, l’est-il vraiment ? On peut en douter.
