This is a futuristic 3D-printed hotel resort set to open in the Texas desert. Known as El Cosmico, the resort includes a circular pool and open-air spa. Once a hippie nomadic campground, it is to be transformed with modern martial-like pods and will include spaces for locals such as art-making facilities and a working garden.
Thanks to 3D-printing, the resort’s Sunday Homes combine contemporary Texan aesthetics with a minimalist style in a forward-thinking manner, boasting organic shapes and an earthy color palette, whereas the biophilic design creates communion with the natural world.
Tools directly influence the forms produced, and technical capabilities may have imposed choices to architects in the past. Will 3D printing of buildings only remain on simple shapes (rectangles, silos, etc.) or will we see a boost in creativity thanks to this new tool? That makes us look forward to the next generation of printers…

Il s’agit d’un complexe hôtelier futuriste imprimé en 3D qui doit ouvrir ses portes dans le désert du Texas. Connu sous le nom d’El Cosmico, le complexe comprend une piscine circulaire et un spa en plein air.
Autrefois terrain de camping nomade hippie, il sera transformé avec des modules modernes d’inspiration Martienne et comprendra des espaces pour les locaux tels que des installations de création artistique et un jardin fonctionnel.
Grâce à l’impression 3D, les Sunday Homes combinent l’esthétique texane contemporaine et un style minimaliste d’avant-garde, avec des formes et une palette de couleurs organiques, permettant à ce design biophilique de se fondre complètement avec l’environnement.
Les outils influencent directement les formes produites, et les capacités techniques ont pu imposer des choix aux architectes par le passé. L’impression 3D des bâtiments se limitera-t-elle à des formes simples (rectangles, silos, etc.) ou verra-t-on un regain de créativité grâce à ce nouvel outil ? De quoi nous faire patienter jusqu’à la prochaine génération d’imprimantes…
