This Hong-Kong spanish restaurant is no exception : spanish food is great in your plate. And is great for your eyes, as the decor is smartly done with spanish cans, bottles and boxes, building lines and pillars around you. What they call a Spanish decor I suppose ?

Mais celle-ci est particulièrement bien faite, mettant en valeur les éléments clefs des prison (grilles, portes, structure), tout en offrant un confort haut de gamme et une pointe d’ironie, avec des photos géantes de prisonniers dans les suites

Well, obvious isn’t it ? In a prison. You’re right. Yet, this prison has been turned into a gorgeous luxury hotel. Turning public buildings, and especially prisons into hotel is a recent adventure. But this one is particularly well done, keeping the jail icons (stairs, grids, doors) while providing upscale comfort and a touch of irony, with giant pictures of prisoners in suites.

It is commonly said that using light models any space. In this hotel, the architect has created a different lightning in each space, making sure it touches the ceilings, the floors, the walls, in a lot of different ways: dots, lines, shadows, reflections … A superb light show which illuminates a very sober design.

Une décoration très chinoise, agrémentée de pandas en peluche, de dessins de pandas, et surtout d’un personnage panda qui vous accueille, vous oriente et vous distrait également au piano!

I can’t believe that nobody has thought of it before! This is the first Panda themed hotel. Located in China at the foot of the mountain where tourists come to see the pandas, it presents a very Chinese decor, decorated with plush pandas, drawing of pandas, and inhabited by a panda character who welcomes you, guides you and also plays the piano for you!

Après le magasin de chocolat de Mexico et celui de Sydney, voici un nouveau caviste New Yorkais qui a choisi de laisser la palette colorielle de ses vins s’exprimer dans le blanc. Les courbes et le bois y ajoutent de la chaleur et du désir. Un belle réussite.

The trend for new stores is definitely white! After the chocolate shops in Mexico City and Sydney, here’s a new New York wine merchant who chose to leave the colour palette aside and let his wines express themselves on a white background. Curves and wood do add warmth and desire. A bold idea.
