Dubaï est le lieu des excès architecturaux. Et ce nouveau bar ne fait pas exception puisqu’il propose 4 lounges très différents évoquant chacun une région du globe. Chaque lounge a son menu et sa carte de cocktails. Je vous laisse retrouver le Lounge européen et celui de Chine. Ils sont très réussis et la possibilité de changer d’atmosphère, simplement en changeant de pièce, doit assurer aux visiteurs des expériences très agréables.

Dubai is the place for architectural excess. And this new bar is no exception. It offers four very different lounges that refer each to a region of the globe. They all have their own menus and cocktail list. I’ll let you find out which ones are the European and the Chinese. The possibility to change atmosphere only by changing room ensures that the guest stays longer to enjoy the differences.

Un nouveau musée d’art contemporain ? Une usine de bois ? Pas du tout. Vous êtes dans un club de golf en République Tchèque. Le développement économique permet aux “nouveaux” pays de renouveler profondément le classicisme de certains univers architecturaux. Et c’est bien agréable.

A new museum of contemporary art? A wood factory? Not at all. You are in a golf club in the Czech Republic. Economic development allows “new” countries to re-invent some deep classicism architectural universes. And it feels so good.

Mais il faudra maintenant s’y habituer car avec la Macalister Mansion, Penang vient de signifier son entrée dans le monde contemporain. Réhabilitant une ancienne maison coloniale, en mêlant art contemporain et épure, tout en capitalisant sur la conception initiale de la maison, une magnifique réinterprétation !

We have not been used (yet) to hear about Malaysia for its innovative places. But we must now get used to it : with the  Macalister Mansion, Penang just signified its entry in the contemporary world. In rehabilitating an old colonial house, mixing contemporary art and refinement, while capitalizing on the initial space design of the house, Ministry of Design managed a beautiful reinterpretation!

Le métro ? Une abbaye ? Non, vous êtes dans les chais souterrains de El Castillo en Espagne. Nouvellement construit, il a la forme d’une long couloir qui s’enfonce progressivement dans la terre à partir d’une entrée très graphique. Etonnant.

The subway? The corridor of an abbey? You are in the underground cellars of El Castillo in Spain. Newly built, it is built as a long corridor that gradually sinks into the earth, coming from a very graphic outside entrance. An incredible impression.
