Ceci n’est pas une ferme couverte de verre, mais une ferme imprimée sur un espace en verre. Pour rendre hommage à l’histoire de la région, le village de Schijndel aux Pays-Bas a décidé de bâtir un lieu d’évocation des fermes traditionnelles. L’architecte a imprimé une ferme sur une grande enveloppe de verre, qui sert au village de lieu d’exposition, de restauration et de réunion. Imprimé à l’extérieur comme à l’intérieur, le bâtiment est beaucoup plus grand qu’une ferme classique, donnant à chacun l’impression de retrouver sa taille d’enfant. Une magnifique idée, très bien réalisée.

This is not a glass-covered farm, but a farm printed on glass. To honor the history of the region, the village of Schijndel in the Netherlands has decided to build a place evocative of traditional farms. The architect firm printed on a large glass envelope, creating a space which serves different roles (venue, restaurant area and meeting facilities). Printed on the outside as on the inside, the building is much larger than a conventional farm, giving everyone the impression of being a child size again. A wonderful idea, very well crafted.

On a vu plein de sorte de pop-up, un hôtel pop-up, c’est plus rare, et un love hôtel, c’est inédit. Et celui-ci était vraiment réussi. Il a malheureusement maintenant fermé ses portes.

Chaque chambre avait été conçue par un designer dans le but d’expérimenter des ébats inédits: en rotation, à l’extérieur, sous une pluie battante… De quoi donner des sensations.

We have already experimented lots of pop-up places, pop-up hotels not so often. But a pop-up love hotel is new. Well was new as it has unfortunately now closed.

Each room was specially designed in order to experiment sex in a different situation: on a rotating bed, outdoors, under the rain … Mixing sensations with design, quite a thrill !

Vous êtes dans la ville d’entraînement à la guérilla urbaine de l’armée française: Jeoffrécourt. Etonnant comme les militaires imaginent que l’urbanité, la ville se réduise à des bâtiments et des structures. C’est pourtant tout le contraire.

You’re not in a city at war. You’re not on a movie set. You’re not in a dead city. You ‘re in all of those places together.

You are in the French Army training city dedicated to urban war: Jeoffrecourt. Amazing how the military think that urbanity, city mastering is about buildings and structures. Urban life is exactly the opposite.

Recycler, c’est toujours réinventer. Recycler, c’est aussi choisir ce que l’on garde et ce que l’on jette. Et transformer des écuries en maison, c’est un recyclage assez délicat.

Ici, l’architecte a gardé tout ce qu’il fallait des anciennes écuries (les box, les portes des différents espaces, et la perception d’une enfilade). Et leur interprétation dans ce blanc immaculé crée une maison contemporaine originale et apaisante.

Recycling of course means reinventing. But also choosing. Choosing what we keep and what we throw away. And transforming those stables into a house was a rather delicate recycling.

In this transformation, the architect has kept all icons of the old stables (the box, the doors between the different spaces, and the perception of a long house). And their interpretation through this pure white creates an original and soothing contemporary home.

Blanc comme la pureté de l’âme, blanc comme la page blanche de l’esprit… un blanc qui a inspiré l’architecte qui a signé cette chapelle blanche. Au-delà du blanc, deux belles idées pour renforcer la perception de blanc absolu: un sol brillant qui reflète le toit et les sièges, et un autel transparent pour ne pas détruire la perspective. Des idées qui font la différence.

White as the purity of the soul, white as a new page in the mind … A white chapel, entirely white surrounded by the blue of the sea.  Beyond the colour, two great ideas to enhance the perception of an absolute white: a shiny floor that reflects both roof and seats, and a transparent altar to avoid destroying the view. Ideas that make the difference.

No flowering wallpaper, no girlie atmosphere. And yet you are in a woman place: a beauty salon dedicated to hair removal. Colorful, indeed, lively, yes, but also quite surprising.

Ce superbe loft a trouvé la réponse à la question que se posent tous les amateurs de loft et leurs architectes: comment cacher les espaces intimes dans un lieu aussi ouvert que possible ? Les mettre en plein milieu, bien visibles est une option rare, osée et ici très bien interprétée en donnant à la salle de bains et aux toilettes une forme de capsule spatiale qui habille et structure l’ensemble de l’espace du loft.

This beautiful loft has found the answer to the question asked by all loft amateurs and their architects : how can we hide the intimate spaces in a place meant to be as open as possible? Putting them in the middle, obvious and visible is a rare option, quite daring but very well invented here. With the creation of a capsule form space, set in the middle of the large room, including the bathroom and toilet, the architect has found a solution and structured the loft in the samen time. Well done.

Vous êtes dans un phare. Mais un phare contemporain, crée à l’entrée du port de Thuwal en Arabie Saoudite.

Ce phare sert également de signe de reconnaissance pour l’Université de Science et de technologie du roi Abdullah située juste à côté. Sa structure, haute et allongée, est étudiée pour faire remonter rapidement l’air chaud et accueillir amplement l’air maritime plus tempéré. Et ainsi maintenir naturellement une température agréable. Cela permet à ce lieu d’être également un lieu événementiel.

You are in a lighthouse. A contemporary lighthouse created at the harbor entrance of Thuwal in Saudi Arabia.

This lighthouse is also a beacon for the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology  located at its feet. The structure, vertical and ascending, is studied to quickly push the warm air up and accommodate ample milder maritime air in. And so naturally maintain an agreeable temperature. This allows the lighthouse to be also a favorite event location.

Boxpark est un centre commercial pop-up qui s’est installé à Londres pour 5 ans.
Construit en containers, il a une philosophie bien à lui. Boxpark cherchez à offrir à des marques innovantes des lieux peu chers, peu risqués, pour rencontrer de nouveaux publics. De petits espaces donc, mais tous emplis de créativité et d’innovation. Certains box sont même offerts à des PME et des associations locales, à des prix préférentiels, pour renforcer la vie de la communauté locale. Design, chic, innovant, et engagé.
