TT South East Asia – The ultimate client service

The ultimate client service: How to allow a 21st century guest to visit cities, always connected.

One of the most frustrating part of leisure travel is not being able to connect all the time to your usual social network or connecting apps. Being in another country makes you rely on free wi-fi in the places you visit.

In Singapore and Hong-Kong, I discovered this absolutely perfect service: the Handy.

In your hotel room, you find a smartphone that you can borrow for free. It is not to be used in the place of your phone, but as a wi-fi hotspot. You connect your phone to it, as a regular wi-fi source and by carrying it with you, you have access to wi-fi all the time.

On top of this connection feature, you can call with your handy, almost all major countries in the world, for free; you have access to the public transport map and Google’s city map. And you can of course connect to the hotel all the time.

A wonderful tool that was proposed for free by both luxury and midscale hotels. The next stage will surely be a smaller size handy (to allow solely internet and calls) and propositions of coupons and advertising.

I found it in the New Majestic Hotel and the Wanderlust Hotel in Singapore and the Hotel Icon in Hong-Kong.
