#241 QUEL EST CE LIEU ? WHERE ARE YOU ?

Located in the National Gallery of Victoria art museum in Australia, this merry-go-round-looking-place is full of surprises.

The National Gallery of Victoria’s café has been entirely rethought as part of a project of the museum’s triennial program. Tremendously colorful, joyful and smooth, Boudoir Babylon enables visitors to gather in a place that celebrates diversity. Stereotypically gendered colours such as baby blue and pink pastel colors and « queer-oglyphs »* aim at shaking up our society’s clichés and hierarchies.
The colored dividers makes this coffee social distancing compliant whereas it is built as a theatre of conversation and exchange, a multidimensional space designed for both togetherness and solitude.
